Job Description:

Clinical Research Coordinator, RN will manage clinical trials from initiation through termination in accordance with GCPs (good clinical practices), ICH guidelines, FDA regulations, IRB requirements, local government laws, and study protocols.

Position Responsibilities

  1. Act as primary contact to the pharmaceutical/medical device company or government sponsor
  2. Maintain regulatory documents and IRB correspondence
  3. Update and review protocols, case report forms, source documents, and other study-related documents
  4. Recruit, identify, screen, enroll and randomize patients
  5. Coordinate the logistics of and complete all study related procedures, including clinic visits with direct patient care activities, such as informed consent, cognitive and behavioral assessments, vital signs, medication administration blood draws and specimen handling/shipping (willing to train the right person)
  6. Complete source documentation and transfer data to CRFs (case report forms) or EDC (electronic data capture) system
  7. Conduct pre-study, initiation, monitoring, and close out visits with pharmaceutical/device or government representative
  8. Assist finance department in negotiating study contracts and budgets
  9. Attend investigator meetings as needed (this would require out-of-town travel)
  10. Prepare exam rooms
  11. Provide patient intake procedures which includes recording vital signs, medications and adverse events, phlebotomy, placement of intravenous catheters, ECG’s, administer cognitive tests, diary training, videotaping of the patient and patient education
  12. Establish rapport with patients and family members, and provide information and education on disease management problems
  13. Independent action in dealing with patient care issues may be taken, consistent with RN’s level of orientation, and with the limits of the Nursing Practice laws of the State of California 


Job Requirements:

RN, BS degreee and 4+ years experience in health care field (preference for Clinical Research experience)

Strong attention to detail

Outstanding organizational, multi-tasking and problem-solving skills

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Computer Savvy (preference for EDC experience)
