Our dance class is hosted by The Parkinson's Institute and taught by professional dancer, Damara Vita Ganley (Project Bandaloop and Joe Goode Performance Group). This class is a part of the Dance for PDŽ community, a program originated by the Mark Morris Dance Group and the Brooklyn Parkinson's Group. The Dance for PDŽ is built on one fundamental premise: professionally trained dancers are movement experts whose knowledge is useful to persons with PD. The Dance for PDŽ class is an aesthetic experience that uses the elements of narrative, imagery, music and community to develop artistry and grace while addressing such PD-specific concerns.
